MISSIONS

The library is responsible for implementing the university's documentary policy. Its objective is to ensure the university community - students as well as teacher-researchers - access to all the documentation required for both teaching and research in the fields covered by the university. With its scientific and technical skills in documenting and processing information, it ensures the local and national reporting of its resources, as well as their conservation and development. It also guarantees access of the resources, on site and remotely.

In the main building, collections are grouped following disciplines :

  • Ground floor : Fine arts, Music, Performing arts, Press, Comics
  • 1st floor : Law and Political Sciences, Practical Guides
  • 2nd floor : Humanities, Society and Economic Sciences
  • 3rd floor : Exact Sciences, Sport, Computer Science

In addition to the main building where most resources are located, the library has also specific collections in three different places :

  • Site Facteur Cheval (Bibliothèque de l'UFR SHS) - Management & sociology 
  • Site de Brétigny (Bibliothèque de l'IUT) - thermal engineering, energy, management and human resources
  • Site Pelvoux (Bibliothèque de l'UFR Sciences et Technologies) - engineering

THE LIBRARY AREAS

  • 750 individual work seats spread over the 4 levels of the library
  • 7 group work rooms 2nd floor, and one on the 1st floor
  • 1 room dedicated for the defense of thesis
  • 1 training room
  • 1 audiovisual space on the 1st floor: 6 televisions to watch fiction movies or documentaries from the library collections on site
  • 1 reception hall in which you will discover a different exhibition every month related to current events or local / national events, often matched with a selection of documents you can consult at the Mots'Art fair
